Below I’m going to show you the steps I used to get my band signed to an indie label a couple of years back. It was great to have some record label advice and money behind us but to be honest I do this stuff independently now:

- Make sure that you have your band polished and your image sharp.
- The next step was to record a single with a couple of B-sides and schedule a release date.
- After that you should book a few gigs in the local town as close as possible to the label offices.
- Now you want to send out your press release to the head of A&R at all the labels and ask them to come to a show.
- If they like your gig they will ask for a showcase to bring the top label people down.
- If the showcase goes well they will talk about a deal.
Simple but effective, give this a go.
