Record Label Contacts – How to Make Them Love You in 5 Steps

In this article I’m going to give you a massive list of record label contacts, but first I want to talk to you about how to approach them to get what you want…which I’m guessing is a record deal!

The process usually goes something like this…

You record a demo and the whole band feels very pleased with themselves. You play it to a few family and friends and they love it.

But now what?

You need to get that music into the hands of decision makers who can help you move forward in your music career, if your music is any good why not try and turn this into your job?

The sad thing is that once most bands get off the couch and start to send out their music they get no replies and give up.

But you will now have the secrets to increase your response rate by up to 96%

Cool!

5 Step to Make Your Record Label Contacts Love You

1. Find the prefect label

If you send 100 CDs out to every label you can find you might get 1 come back with some interest.

But if you spend an hour finding two labels that are signing music like yours and send out two CDs you might still get 1 reply.

Be smart and skip that machine gun approach!

2. Read their websites

Once you have a list of two or three labels that will love your stuff look for the FAQs section on their website to see if they even listen to demos.

You need to find out:

* If they except demos
* What format they like
* Their postal address
* Who you should send it to
* If you can follow up

3. Don’t be boring.

You may have an amazing 12 minute epic tune but this is not going to work for your demo submission. Keep every bit short and sweet including the cover letter.

4. What to send

* A small demo of three songs labelled with your band name and email address
* Info about your band sometimes called a “biog”
* Any good reviews you’ve gotten.

5. Don’t get depressed

Even with all this work you will only hear back from 10% of the labels at most. So you should make it your mission to always be on the look out for people who might like your stuff and send at least three demos out per week.

You should also work on your music all the time to make sure that it’s always improving then Record Label Contacts will come to you.
