Music Career Interviews: James Schramko

6 years ago James saw the writing on the wall for his day job and decided to start an online business as backup in case the worst happened. By sheer force of will and determination he pushed himself to work four hours every evening and was able to financially replace his management position at Mercedes-Benz, kissing the rat race goodbye after 3 years of dedicated focused effort. (That’s why he looks so happy in the picture below ;-) )

Now he sits firmly among the most highly respected online marketers around, and ever since I saw him deliver some mind-blowing information at a seminar two years ago, his Internet Marketing Speed website has been firmly in my “Vital Reads” list. You can also keep up to date with his newest information on Facebook and Twitter.

What you’re going to learn from the interview…

  • How to motivate yourself to work on your career even when your dog tired.
  • How to focus and make time for the things that will have the biggest impact on your career.
  • Why it’s a good idea to ask your fans what they want before you start making products.
  • How to get people to come to your website.
  • How to “pre-sell” your fans.
  • When and what to email out to your mailing list.
  • Setting up an automatic sales machine for your music.
  • The difference between passive and active income.
  • What you can do if you only have an hour a day to work on your career.
  • The questions you need to ask yourself everyday if you want to build momentum.

…and that’s just a tiny weeny taster peeps.

While we were talking James mentioned that he’s into Led Zeppelin so I wrote the little jingle at the start as my “thank you” for all the exciting information he shared during our 45 minute chat. (But maybe the result turned out more like Tenacious D)

By the way, once you’ve finished and you note book is full, turn then page then visit this link to get another two hours of training from James.

Enjoy,

- Chris
