Music Promotion Career

There are many different types of music promotion career opportunities but in this post I’m going over the process of booking and promoting your own show.

Here are the steps:

  1. Contact a local venue and ask to book a show on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Agree and fee of no more than $100 upfront if this is your first show.
  2. Book three bands that you know for a fact have a local following. Make sure they don’t have another show in the same month.
  3. Ask all the band to post out the gig to their fans.
  4. Give out fliers and put up posters at the venue.
  5. Go to other venues in the town and give out fliers.
  6. Try and get a few local radio spots the day before to talk about your night, you have to think of a newsworthy hook.

If you go through all the steps you should be able to sell out your show and can build your promotion career from there.
