There are many different types of music promotion career opportunities but in this post I’m going over the process of booking and promoting your own show.

Here are the steps:
- Contact a local venue and ask to book a show on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Agree and fee of no more than $100 upfront if this is your first show.
- Book three bands that you know for a fact have a local following. Make sure they don’t have another show in the same month.
- Ask all the band to post out the gig to their fans.
- Give out fliers and put up posters at the venue.
- Go to other venues in the town and give out fliers.
- Try and get a few local radio spots the day before to talk about your night, you have to think of a newsworthy hook.
If you go through all the steps you should be able to sell out your show and can build your promotion career from there.
