This post is part of Music Marketing Challenge
Today we begin a process I call “YouTube Hit-stalking” which is all about riding on the back of music that is already buzzing online, by combining it with a few of my favorite easy and fast marketing tactics.
The problem that a lot of new musicians face is that even though there are millions of enthusiastic music fans online, none of them will be automatically seeking you out because they may have no idea who you are or why they should be listening to your music at all.
It would be like me jumping on the Internet and trying to buy an Ipad even if I had never heard of Apple.
That is why I believe when you’re starting out you need to sprinkle a few things into your marketing plan that people are searching for right now, like other famous musicians and already established music.
After a while they’ll search for YOU as well, but until then we need to give people a little push in your direction.
The video below is going to help start that process for you.
