Hey Guys,
I just noticed some weird Google rankings which might help you get a few more targeted fans to your website.
The basic story is that I posted a review for a new music service called VibeDeck the other day, and now if you search “VibeDeck Review” my web properties are taking up most of the first two pages in Google.
The reason this happened is because I used TubeMogul and Posterous to syndicate my content across multiple websites, so that they get maximum exposure. A good lesson in leverage! (If you do something cool you want a lot of people to see it right?)
You could use this same loophole to review upcoming albums and such.
Please don’t use this to spam, your content will get booted if you post crap.
As other people start talking about VibeDeck I expect the results will start to look a little more normal…but hey, it’s fun while it lasts.
Anyways, I explain the whole thing in the video. If you want to try this out just remember the 3 golden rules of Google ranking.
- Is there or will there be traffic for the search term you are targeting?
- Are those web visitors going to be into your music? Owning Google for “Whiteboard pens” probably won’t help you sell any music.
- How much competition is there? There should not be too much if you review something early.
