Independent music marketing is not are hard as you think and with a little bit of time and patience the sky’s the limit. It can also be done at a fraction of the cost of the normal music marketing PR channels.
Here’s how I do it…
- Set up a google alert for bands that are successful in your niche.
- Make a note of the blogs that talk about their music.
- Create your release with CD album or single, press release and music video.
- Contact the blogs you found and mention that you think that your music might be of interest because they are already writing about similar bands. (Journalist and bloggers love it when you present something relevant to their readers.)
Put together a simple first release and give this a try.
