One of the best ways to promote your album is to put out a few singles ahead of the release. The reason for this is that it will give something for the radio stations to play and for the magazine and blogger writers to post.
But before you put out your promotional singles make sure you go through the check list below:
Do you have…?
- Band Bio.
- Press Kit.
- PR person for radio and press.
- List of relevant blogs, radio stations and magazines.
- A number of shows that might get you a review.
- At least 1000 CDs to give away.
If you get all this stuff together in advance you will be ahead of 90% of the other releases I see coming out and will have a must better chance of sucess.
